On the last day of 2024, I have some exciting news to share! My painting, “Viburnum” has been accepted as an entry in the Craigs Aspiring Art Prize 2025. It will be on display with around 150 other artworks at the Holy Family Catholic School in Wanaka from 10-13th January 2025. Unfortunately, I can’t go down to Wanaka and see the show myself, but I’m so thrilled to have a piece of my artwork included in the exhibition. It’s been a quiet second half-year for my art, as I’ve been busy with family responsibilities and other interests (I’m now learning to spin!) but I’ve decided it’s not such a terrible thing to progress slowly and perhaps more surely than I would have liked when I was younger. I have a couple more flower paintings planned for the new year, but am saving up for more art supplies first. If I’m lucky, my “Viburnum” painting will sell, so I can launch into a few new paintings and try out some new oil painting mediums I have my eye on… 😉
Happy New Year!
