I thought you might be interested to see progress shots of my latest finished piece, ‘Japanese Quince’. 

Perhaps you’ll be surprised to learn that I didn’t use ANY black paint in this piece, or in my other two ‘garden’ pieces! I’ve decided this series of paintings is going to be all about COLOUR, and seeing as black is actually the absence of colour, I’ve challenged myself to do without it completely. So far, I haven’t missed it at all.  White, on the other hand, I just can’t do without!  White is light; it makes everything work as far as I’m concerned.
